"I can assure you that our heavenly Father never disciplines inappropriately [unlike earthly fathers]. His chastisement of us is always perfect and just and timely. Though we may not always understand what He does, we can rest assured that He does it out of boundless love for His children.

"We need never wonder or worry about the intent behind our distress. God is always seeking our best. He is neither too harsh nor to lenient. His chastening touch is perfectly suited to the need of our souls. If we chafe under His mighty hand it is our fault, not His."
